Altcoins API & data resources

Better data starts with a clear contract.

Inspect the static reference dataset, run a local request, and learn what a reliable cryptocurrency data integration needs. No live API service is implied.

A reference file you can actually use

This website publishes a small static JSON file containing its six token research profiles and primary-documentation links. You can download it, inspect it, or read it with the examples below. It contains no API keys, account information, contract-address registry, or market values.

The file’s content_checked field is an editorial reference date, not a market observation timestamp. market_data is explicitly null; it must not be interpreted as a zero price. Hosting a JSON file does not make it a continuously updated market service.

Try the integration examples

async function readTokenReference() {
  const response = await fetch('/assets/data/token-reference.json', {
    credentials: 'omit'
  });
  if (!response.ok) throw new Error(`HTTP ${response.status}`);
  const data = await response.json();
  if (data.kind !== 'static-reference' || !Array.isArray(data.assets)) {
    throw new Error('Unexpected reference format');
  }
  return data.assets; // reference profiles, not market prices
}
readTokenReference().then(console.table).catch(console.error);

The request reads a JSON file hosted with this website. It does not contact a market-data provider.

The data contract

FieldMeaningHandling rule
schema_versionVersion of this reference structureCheck before assuming fields are unchanged.
kindAlways static-reference in this fileDo not present the response as a live quote.
content_checkedEditorial reference review dateNot the time of a market observation.
reference_networkScope of the educational profileNot a full list of supported networks.
documentation_urlPrimary source for the profileReview independently before relying on a changing claim.
market_dataNull: not providedUnknown or unavailable is not zero.
statusreference-onlyDo not calculate a portfolio value from this file.

Need live altcoin market data?

A separate integration needs a provider whose identifiers, coverage, data rights, limits, and authentication model fit the intended use. Check the current CoinGecko market-data documentation for an example of a provider-defined response. This is a reference, not a partnership or recommendation.

Preserve timestamps, quote currencies, null values, and source provenance. Never expose a confidential credential in publicly delivered JavaScript. A protected-key integration requires a different architecture from this fully static website. Our API data-quality guide explains the design questions in detail.
