Data & research methodology
Know what the information represents.
Coverage, provenance, and limitations should be easy to find. Here is how the site’s information and tools are scoped.
Coverage and purpose
TrackAltcoins.com publishes educational articles and six curated asset profiles. The profiles illustrate native assets, utility tokens, governance tokens, and a liquid-staking representation across Ethereum and Solana. The list is not comprehensive, ranked, or selected as an investment recommendation. An asset’s inclusion or omission is not an assessment of its future performance.
What the site does not measure
There is no live price feed, market-cap snapshot, transaction indexer, wallet balance sync, or performance ranking. All numeric learning examples are labeled hypothetical. The static JSON reference contains names, classification, profile links, and documentation links; its market-data field is null. Its editorial date must not be mistaken for the timestamp of a market observation.
Identity and reference scope
Each profile names its reference network and asset type. Profiles do not provide transaction-ready contract or mint addresses. Readers should verify complete identifiers through established primary documentation. Multiple representations with similar names should not be merged without an explicit explanation of the intended measurement.
Evidence and uncertainty
Technical descriptions use relevant primary documentation. A source explains the documented mechanism; it does not independently certify safety, liquidity, or investment suitability. Provider methodologies, interfaces, and protocol behavior can change. Where an article uses an example or an inference, the text distinguishes it from an observed fact.
Dates and changes
Article publication dates appear consistently in the guide, listings, structured data, and RSS feed. A profile’s reference-review date relates to its editorial content, not a market observation. We do not use a rolling current date to make every article appear newly updated. Material corrections should identify what changed rather than silently presenting a new interpretation as the original record.
Local functionality
The watchlist stores profile IDs in browser local storage and offers a JSON export. It does not identify your holdings. Filters, code examples, and fictional portfolio scenarios run in your browser. There are no external runtime data requests, third-party analytics tags, or remote font dependencies in the site’s code.
